Welcome to Baha’i Arts Ottawa, a blog that publicizes the many vibrant arts events featuring the many accomplished Baha’i artists in the Ottawa area.  All are open to the public and most are free of charge. It’s also a place for Baha’is involved in the arts to profile and publicize their work, share interests, announce upcoming events, etc.

All arts are welcome – music, dance, writing, visual arts, digital arts , etc. Post upcoming events, workshop opportunities, add a short profile of yourself, and check out ongoing arts opportunities in the Ottawa Baha’i Community. Please check out all our pages and join us for these great events.

“All Art is a gift of the Holy Spirit. When this light shines through the mind of a musician, it manifests itself in beautiful harmonies. Again, shining through the mind of a poet, it is seen in fine poetry and poetic prose When the Light of the Sun of Truth inspires the mind of a painter, he produces marvellous pictures. These gifts are fulfilling their highest purpose when showing forth the praise of God.” – Abdu’l-Baha

“It is natural for the heart and spirit to take pleasure and enjoyment in all things that show forth symmetry, harmony, and perfection. For instance, a beautiful house, a well-designed garden, a symmetrical line, a graceful motion, a well-written book, pleasing garments – in fact, all things that have in themselves grace or beauty are pleasing to the heart and spirit…” –  Abdu’l-Baha

Hi Linda,

This is a wonderful initiative. Thanks for providing a place for the artistically inclined to express themselves. You may even inspire me to update my blog! Jack

Great to see you have started this Blog – well done.

Jack McLean’s e-mail hit my inbox today. In it he shares his pleasure in the news that the BPT of India has agreed to publish his book on the writings of Shoghi Effendi. Great news.

His e-mail reminds me that self-publishing is a new and increasingly popular trend these days, and Baha’i writers may be interested in a new web site http://www.fastpencil.com/
